Back when I lived in Brooklyn one of my favorite places to go out to eat was a restaurant called Marlow and Sons, so I’m thrilled that one of my paintings - Kill, Dress, Eat - is being featured in Diner Journal, which is a quarterly magazine with original art, lit and recipes, that is published by Brooklyn restaurateur Andrew Tarlow of Diner, Marlow & Sons, and Roman’s, Reynard and butcher shop Marlow & Daughters.

I recently applied to the 2013 Wyoming Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship and while I didn’t receive one of the fellowships I was one of the seven finalists and received a “honorable mention” (along with three other Wyoming artists - Diana Baumbach, Suzanne Morlock, and Jennifer Hoffman.) I’m grateful to the judges and excited to have one of my pieces included in the Wyoming Art’s Council Biennial Show which will opens in September at the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper.
Congratulations to the fellowship winners - Abbie Miller, Brian Haberman, and Susan Thulin!

Here is an interview that I just did with Alex Allenchey for Artspace.com about my practice and plans for the future.

Since 1985, the New York Foundation for the Arts has been supporting emerging artists through its prestigious fellowship program, which has buoyed now-celebrated figures from Andres Serrano to Christian Marclay when they were still unknowns. Today Artspace is proud to announce a historic partnership with NYFA, offering work by more recent recipients of its fellowships—offering members a chance to collect promising artists at critical points in their careers.
I’m thrilled to that announce that eight of my paintings are being featured/sold on Artspace.com as part of this partnership!

RIDING SLICK GREETING CARDS
.
While I’ve been selling my “Riding Slick” greeting cards at a few shops in Laramie since my show opened in November I thought that I’d post about them here so that folks that don’t reside in Laramie can get their hands on them. They cost $4 a piece and orders can be placed by sending an e-mail to juneglasson@gmail.com. Hurray!
